Bridging the Gap: Medicine, the Media, and Women’s Health

When: Saturday, April 24th, 2010, from 8.30-4.30 (Breakfast, Coffee, and Lunch Provided!)

Where: Eisner & Lubin Auditorium, on the 4th floor of the Kimmel Center (60 Washington Square South)

The NYU School of Medicine and the NYU Hospital for Join Diseases would like to invite you to join us for an exciting full day conference addressing the ways in which mass media influences how doctors and patients converse about controversial women’s health topics! The event is called “Bridging the Gap: Medicine, the Media, and Women’s Health.” and will feature lectures and panels presented by top physicians and Media Moderators from news outlets such as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. The programming is centered around ongoing controversies relating to women’s health, such as whether gender based medicine is necessary, if the debate over hormones and women’s health is medical or political, and how mass media has–for better or for worse–changed the way that women make healthcare decisions.
