Temple University Women’s Studies Program Job Search

The Women’s Studies Program at Temple University invites applications for a non-tenure track, one-year appointment with possibility of renewal–beginning Fall 2010. Special consideration will be given to candidates whose area of specialization is at the intersections of race, gender and/or sexuality. The position carries a 3 / 4 teaching load for a total of seven courses per year. The successful candidate will teach the undergraduate research seminar and direct undergraduate field work along with a combination of some of the following core courses in the program: “Critical Race Theory and Feminist Implications,” “Foundations in Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies,” “Border Crossings: Gendered Dimensions of Globalization” and “Living for Change: Autobiographies of Women in Radical Social Movements.” An elective course in the candidate’s area of specialization might be substituted for one of these core courses. The position includes undergraduate advising duties in the major. Ph.D. needs to be in hand by August 1, 2010; significant teaching experience strongly preferred.
